A two-city music festival featuring an all-star lineup: Sidefest’s 2023 glow-up

Following a 2022 sell-out, Sly Withers announce the festival's return with two ‘uge days in Brisbane and in Fremantle featuring Tigers Jaw, Bugs, The Buoys, Drug Church, and more!

Presented and curated by Sly Withers, Sidequest, and Select Music, Sidefest is back in 2023 offering an absolute sideFEAST of renowned emo, punk rock, and straight-up captivating artists from Australia and beyond. Designed as a festival for music enthusiasts, anticipate unforgettable performances, uncover newfound favourites, expect the unexpected, and enjoy it all within lively, captivating and welcoming venues.

Selling out their Perth debut last year, the festival is taking over The Brightside in Brisbane on Tuesday August 15 and Wednesday August 16 2023 (Ekka public holiday).

Before returning to home turf for two grand days at Freo.Social in Fremantle on Saturday August 19 and Sunday August 20 2023.

Enhancing the festival's already rich heritage, the line-up invites international acts for the first time boasting American emo band Tigers Jaw and the dynamic punk rockers Drug Church, as well as LA-based Australian Daz & the Demons, the new project from Kisschasy’s Daz Cordeaux - whilst still celebrating some of the most exciting acts Australian has to offer: Teenage Joans, Bugs, The Buoys, Bec Stevens, Suzi, Aleksiah, Ursula, Mal de Mer, Mikayla Pasterfield, and more. Plus the added experience of some more stripped back, tender and captivating moments, as Beddy Rays, Adam Newling, Noah Dillon, Sly Withers, and Tigers Jaw, as well as some all-star locals in each city perform acoustic sets.

Sly Withers, once again curating the event, expressed their enthusiasm for Sidefest 2023. Co-frontman Sam Blitvich sharing:

We’re incredibly excited to bring together such a fun lineup of bands for Sidefest. It’s a dream come true to curate this special event with both new and old friends, and we’re particularly stoked to bring Sidefest to Brisbane this year too. Brisbane has always been so good to us!

Jono Mata, the other co-frontman of Sly Withers, adding:

Sidefest continues to build a thriving community of bands and friends who come together to celebrate and support each other’s achievements. It’s a testament to the power of music and the connections it creates. We’re proud to create a space where artists can showcase their talents and fans can experience the magic of a strong and thriving live music community
